Dr. Cristaldi graduated cum laude in Medicine in 1990 at University of Milan and completed residency program in General and Gastroenterological Surgery in the Central University Hospital in Milan. Before being appointed a staff surgeon and lecturer in Surgery at Luigi Sacco University Hospital in Milan he completed Fellowship in GI surgery in the same institution, specializing in the treatment of gastro-intestinal condition with particular focus on diseases of the large intestine. He received training in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, which became part of his routine practice since 1998. In 2003 he moved to UK as Consultant Colorectal Surgeon being appointed at Oxford Radcliffe University Hospital NHS trust. While in post, Dr. Cristaldi was part of the Oxford Colorectal Unit with 5 other consultants specializing the treatment of colorectal cancer and inflammatory dowel disease.
In 2010 he joined the largest tertiary care in the UAE where he established a colorectal unit taking care of neoplastic and benign ano-rectal conditions. During his career he authored more than 30 scientific articles on some of most internationally renowned peer-reviewed journals. During his previous appointment he was chairman of various surgical initiatives as expert in surgical quality improvement and infection control prevention.
At Harley Street Dr. Cristaldi will provide endoscopy services, colo-proctology with specific focus on minimally invasive techniques for ano-rectal conditions and general surgery.

Outstanding!! Dealing with Dr. Cristaldi has been dealing with a Human before anything else. He immediately accepted to treat me whereas 4 doctors had refused to do anything to improve my condition after suffering for over 1.5 month and at least 3 unsuccessful surgeries and therefore lost the ability to perform some basic life needs. Dr. Cristaldi was extremely clear and honest about the steps forward. It took just one quick surgery and less than 2 weeks to get me back to work and retrieve a close to normal life. Six months later I was ready for another surgery to get me back to a normal condition.
In addition to be a great person to deal with, Dr. Cristaldi’s professionalism and extremely high-level expertise was also very impressive. His confidence level was transmitted to me and gave me the strength I needed to surpass this tough period. Privacy was also by far the best I’ve seen.My experience with Dr. Cristaldi, his assistant Ms. Hannah and the entire team at Harley Clinic was straight forward and I’ve never felt I was treated as a number while dealing with HSMC. I also never felt it was a business relationship. Indeed, I never felt at least one minimal push to get as much money as possible out of my condition. I’ve never been requested to do a non-necessary medical service/test etc.
With the combination of high-level expertise and a series of tests through state-of-the-art equipment the diagnosis was fast and very clear and therefore critical in the recovery process.
